ViewPoint is a high-performance, professional-grade serial data visualization platform that lets engineers, researchers, educators, and hobbyists see complex, real-time signals clearly, at full speed, without compromise.

The app is structured around deterministic streaming, protocol-driven configuration, and rendering modes designed for real measurement and experimentation workflows that are comparable to those seen with high-performance test equipment.

At a practical level, ViewPoint gives a user one tool to:

  • connect to embedded targets over serial communications (typically USB),
  • configure plot behavior from firmware or UI,
  • visualize real-time data in multiple domain-appropriate modes (time, XY, polar, persistence, spectrogram, color-gradient),
  • locate and inspect peaks and harmonics with marker tools,
  • derive traces (moving average and min/max-hold),
  • and capture both raw datasets (CSV) and presentation artifacts (screenshots/screen recordings).

Modes and Feature Set

Plot Type Modes

  • Cartesian: time/sample-index style plotting.
  • Scatter (XY): paired-value plotting for constellations, phase, or trajectory analysis.

Update Modes

  • Continuous (“strip chart”): streaming updates, suitable for live monitoring.
